National Recovery Month is annually observed every September to uplift and support evidence based treatment and shining pathways to recovery. This observance highlights public awareness of substance use also known as "addiction" recovery, celebrates the resilience of those in recovery and honors the service providers who make healing possible. SAPC recognizes recovery in all its forms, and we are excited to showcase these individuals' long term recovery journeys and their successes.

Recovery Services are recovery-oriented services designed to support individuals who have completed treatment stay engaged in the recovery process and reduce the likelihood of relapse. Services promote the use of effective self-management and coping strategies, as well as internal and community resources and may include several different components including:

  • Outpatient counseling.
  • Coaching and monitoring of an individual’s recovery journey.
  • Peer support.
  • Relapse prevention.
  • Skills training related to education and employment.
  • Family support.
  • Linkage to additional services such as case management, housing assistance, and care coordination.

Because Substance Use Disorders affect every part of a person’s life, some people may need more time and help to be able to stop drinking and/or using drugs. This makes Substance Use Disorder treatment an important option for people to consider.
